(Cro-tone-eh) A small town in Italy, founded in the 7th cent. a.d. with a charming church, archeological museum and a small park around the Castle of Charles V. Sadly, we were there on a Sunday and the entire town was closed! We did see the church - where Howard attended the "service" for a short while. (he only gets religious in foreign countries, it seems!)
The museum boasts Crotone as the birthplace of Pythagoras. We enjoyed some time at the museum and it's artifacts. And then took a walk to the little park where Viking had arranged a pastry snack and a small band. We actually had a great view of the port, and the ship dock from this area and got a good photo of the ship.
We made our way back to the ship and I was happy to enjoy an afternoon massage. All in all , a fairly relaxing day.
